Rasputitsa season happens twice a year in parts of Eastern Europe and cause very muddy conditions, either due to autumn rain or melting ice and snow during spring time. During WWII the Rasputitsa provided a great defensive advantage for the Red Army. Common nicknames for the Rasputitsa seasons are “Marshal Mud” or “General Mud”.
