Kredits are the resources that you use to play your cards and operate (move and/or attack) your units. The cost to play each card is displayed in the upper left corner of the card. The operation cost of each unit on the card is a smaller number right below the K symbol on the same corner. When a unit is on the battlefield, its operation cost will be the only number appearing on the upper left corner of the unit's portrait.

You begin the game with 1 kredit slot. At the start of your turn, your total number of kredit slots increases by 1, then you gain kredits equal to your total slots. Kredits that you do not spend by the end of your turn are lost.

There are also cards that allow you to gain more kredits. Some cards simply give you more kredits, but usually only for a single turn. Others, called ramp cards, give you more slots. Ramp cards give you the long-lasting advantage of being able to play more cards per turn or being able to play your expensive cards much sooner.

You will stop passively gaining kredit slots once you reach 12, meaning that you will have a total of 12 kredits per turn on the later stage of a game. This can then be further increased by ramp cards. Cards that temporarily give you extra kredits will also allow you to exceed your number of slots for the turn. However, the total number of both kredits and kredit slots is capped at 24, and this cannot be exceeded.
