For Glory is a Tactical Order in Kards - The WWII CCG.

Background[]

Hist FOR GLORY

Hiroyoshi Nishizawa, 1943.

Although Japanese commanders glorified kamikaze pilots for their courage and sacrifice, the same did not apply to “normal” combat pilots, at least not when it came to keeping scores of air victories. The Japanese focused on honoring team efforts as official records show they kept count of victories of air groups and not individual scores. However, the Japanese did have individual air aces. Their combat scores have been verified by historians through postwar examination of their personal claims, letters and diaries, as well as those of their comrades. According to the examination of these records the leading Japanese aces were navy pilots, and the top ranking Japanese ace of WWII was Warrant Officer Hiroyoshi Nishizawa (nicknamed Demon of Rabaul) with 87 claimed victories.
