The Char B1 bis was a French heavy tank manufactured by Renault. The Char B1 was first manufactured in 1935, but from 1937 to 1940 the Char B1 bis version was manufactured. The tank had a crew of 4, a main armament of 47 mm SA 35 gun and a secondary armament of 2 x 7.5 mm Reibel machine guns. The tank was placed in use by the French forces from 1936-1940, and then again by the Free French Forces from 1944-1945. A total of 774 units were built, including variants.
