The Arctic convoys were oceangoing merchant convoys which sailed the Norwegian Sea and the Arctic Ocean. The convoys sailed from the United Kingdom, Iceland, and North America to northern ports in the Soviet Union – primarily Arkhangelsk (Archangel) and Murmansk in Russia.
