The 4th Kuban Cossack Regiment was attached to the 4th Guards Kuban Cossack Corp and took part in heavy fighting against the German invading forces throughout the war. The regiment fought in Stalingrad and took part in the liberation of Southern Ukraine and Romania and became famous for their bravery. Their heroism was commemorated in 1945 when they were allowed to march in Red Square during the famous Victory Day Parade.
