Soviet Rifle Unit during the Battle of Kursk, 1943
The 321st Rifle Regiment was attached to the 15th Rifle Division of the Red Army. In 1940 it took part in in the Soviet annexation of Bessarabia and Northern Bukovina in Romania. The regiment first saw combat in Operation Barbarossa, but participated in numerous battles and campaigns after that, including the Battle of Kursk, Operation Bagration, the East Pomeranian Offensive, and the Battle of Berlin in 1945.
